Choosing a skilled care or rehabilitation center whether for short-term or long-term care, for yourself or your loved one is a very important decision. Quality of care and quality of life are important components to consider in your decision making process. Often, there is very little time to explore options before a decision must be made. At Bethlen Home, the experienced staff can assist you in the transition from the hospital to Bethlen to home or recommend the appropriate care environment to meet your needs.
Some life choices such as where to live and with whom one chooses to spend their time define life. Moving from one’s home to a personal care facility is such a choice. For most considering a personal care facility as a new home, accommodations, safety, atmosphere and maintaining the highest level of independence possible are of greatest importance. Quality of care is also a serious consideration for those who need greater assistance with activities of daily living (ADL). The staff at Ligonier Gardens is prepared to assist you and your loved ones in reviewing these and other important considerations when making a move as important as choosing a personal care home.

The Bethlen Communities Companion Caregiver Program is available to help seniors live full and independent lives within the comfort of their own home. When activities of daily living become challenging, personal care is too difficult to accomplish alone, or lack of social interaction is creating a feeling of isolation, companion care can provide the needed relief necessary for you or your loved one to remain at home. Companion Caregivers can add to the quality of life as well as to the feeling of safety for those living on their own and/or with physical limitations. Bethlen Companion Care clients report they are relieved to finally have the comfort and help of a dedicated and qualified Caregiver.

Our mission at the Graceful Aging Wellness Center is to provide a meaningful and welcoming environment where adults 40 and older are supported . Bethlen Communities Transportation Program for the areas’ aging population began approximately two years ago. The premise is simple. Bethlen will pick up anyone that needs a ride to a medical appointment, free of charge. We will accept donations for the service, but ultimately we ask for nothing in return. Bethlen will transport our seniors to their appointments, including those in Pittsburgh, and we stay with them until we take them back home. We will never leave anyone alone. If the individual using our services needs to stop at the grocery store after their appointment, we will oblige.
Bethlen Communities has made great strides in the establishment of the Bethlen Communities Heritage Center Museum and Archives to protect, preserve, memorialize and exhibit many items of historical importance in the history of Bethlen Home and those organizations which, 95 years ago, took a stand faithfully investing their time and resources for the good of the greater community, and to preserve the memory of those who dedicated themselves to this greater good. Over the past several years, with this facility available for this purpose, much work has been done in this endeavor.
